Why Early Access?

“The game is released on iOS and Android, but the Steam version is still in development. The controls (keyboard+mouse) are subject to change, and I am considering adding controller support but this doesn't work currently. Additionally, some of the game's code may need to be optimized or rewritten for PC/Mac, as most of it has been designed so far with mobile in mind.

However, the core of the game does work, and indeed during the development process I've been testing regularly on PC. I'm going to consider the game as Early Access until I'm more confident that things are working well across a variety of computers and devices. I'm very much looking forward to your feedback about the game during the Early Access period!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until mid-2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to refine the controls to be more comfortable on PC/Mac, and tweak some UI elements to be better suited to desktop/laptop size screens vs mobile phones and tablets (what the game is currently optimized for). Additionally, some aspects of the game's code may need performance, stability, and compatibility work.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Multiplayer works but there may be lag, performance issues, etc. Cross-play with the mobile version is currently working (and I intend to keep it that way), but as the game evolves the clients might diverge from time to time.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase when the game leaves early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Provide feedback via Discord! Much of the game's development has been based on your feedback, including almost all of the hats in the game.

Truffle Hogs is silly, colorful, and fun... but it's also competitive! The game itself is a fast-paced strategy game where you’ll run around searching for buried truffles, stealing truffles found by other players, defending your own truffles, and grabbing some crazy powerups.

DECORATE YOUR TREEHOUSE



When you play the game with others, you’ll invite them over to your treehouse. So, why not make your treehouse look absolutely sweet? There are thousands of combinations of roofs, floors, walls, and more. Want a super edgy all-black goth house? Or a pretty pink house with a hearts and rainbow floor? The only limit is your imagination (and me adding more decoration options into the game).

Truffle Hogs is being made by one person (my name is Avi, hi!), with additional art and music produced by a few of his friends. There are no lootboxes or other icky gambling mechanics here!

COLOR BLIND ACCESSIBLE



Truffle Hogs relies on colors to distinguish between teams, but you can turn on color-blind mode to use patterns as well as colors to distinguish between teams. It also just looks cool, so you might want to turn it on even if you’re not color-blind!
